7.3 Data Protection
What we need;
Clever Clogs information collected includes your Childs name, date of birth and full address. We also need to access information relating to any medical conditions or allergies relating to the child alongside any medicines that they may be taking. We would require you to sign a consent form for these details.
We may also require the parent/Carers full name, telephone number and in some instances their national Insurance number.
Why we need it;
This information is required under statutory guidance for the setting to comply with Ofsted regulations, Health and Safety and child protection guidelines linked through Essex County Council and for the setting to be able to access FEEE funding for your child. The information is also required to access certain grants available should your child require extra support, with other agencies such as Health, speech or occupational therapy, Educational Psychologist or family support workers.
What we do with it;
any paper records are kept on site in a secure locked cabinet. Any records held electronically are all password protected.
How long we keep it;
the owner is required by UK tax law to keep basic data relating to FEEE funding for 6 years, after which time it is destroyed. All other records are destroyed after3 years. Any relevant information relating to Child Protection may need to be kept until the child is 25 years old.
As a parent/Carer you will always be asked to sign consent that you are willing to share information with other agencies should it be necessary.
What are your rights;
you can withdraw your consent at any time in writing to the setting. You are entitled to view the information that we process. If you wish to make a complaint on how your personal data has been processed you can contact the manager Mrs A Lee who will investigate the matter.
Clever Clogs is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who you can contact if you are not satisfied with the result of any complaint.
